Dine Among the Stars at Space220 at EPCOT

Dining in outer space has always been a bucket list activity for our 8 year old daughter, and we achieved our mission on our last trip to EPCOT. Well, likely as close to space as any of the members of our family will ever achieve!

To say this experience is anything short of spectacular would be a lie - this was truly the most unique dining experience I have ever had at the Walt Disney World resort. The experience was so real, our youngest was in a bit of a panic when he thought we were actually in space.

You start dinner by receiving your space elevator boarding pass. The kids thought this was super cool, but what happened next was even more amazing. We boarded the elevator and off we went - watching the world beneath us get smaller and smaller until we felt like we had actually entered space. The elevator ride is about a minute long.

When you exit the elevator, the views are truly incredible. We had a dinner reservation at 7:30 which was an ideal time as we were able to watch the sunset across the earth. This took about 10 minutes and it was just so cool. The kids also really enjoyed the dog-astranaut that would occasionally pass by our window.

Now onto the food - we were all very pleased with the food at the restaurant. My husband had the Blue Moon Cauliflower for his appetizer and the Florida Red Snapper for dinner. He enjoyed both entrees and thought the Snapper was cooked perfectly. Jer tried The Nebula to drink, and enjoyed it. For dessert he had the Chocolate Cheesecake - and I’ll admit I was stealing some bites here because this was delicious!

I had the Big Bang Burrata for my appetizer and 8oz Filet for dinner (I was hungry!!) and both were really tasty. The burrata was a really unique combination, and a LOT of burrata, we had to share! I had a glass of wine with my meal which was the perfect pairing. Many tables were trying the Planetary Punch which seemed to be a very cool experience - we decided to save that for next time! For dessert I had the Coconut Panna Cotta - I enjoyed it, and so did our kids!

The kids all had a different entree - Smash Burger, Chicken Tenders and Spaghetti and they all ate their entire meal. For dessert they had space cupcakes, and these were. hit! They also received space cards at the end of the meal which they enjoyed.

The meal itself was on the pricey side - as it is pre-fixe and any alcoholic drinks are extra. If you’d like to see the restaurant but not eat, you can secure reservations to the lounge and you get the entire experience without the food. For our next trip, we want to try to get the Lounge reservation to try out that Planetary Punch! But I will say the food was really enjoyable and I would definitely dine here again for a special occasion.

I think this is a MUST DO experience if you have kids that are interested in space (like my daughter), want the most unique dining experience in the parks or have a special occasion to celebrate. Reservations here are VERY hard to secure, so working with Middle of the Magic Travel certainly helps your chances of getting into this amazing restaurant - and I’d love to help you experience this incredible restaurant!
