Planned vs. Spontaneous Trips
This is a very important part of the planning process - deciding if you prefer to have your vacations more scheduled, or if you like to live-in-the-moment and be much more spontaneous. Cruises are ideal for those who enjoy structure to their vacations and want to leave the planning up to someone else! Many clients love cruises as it removes the major decision making from their vacations and allow someone else to call the shots so they can truly relax and unwind on their vacation.
The main decisions you’ll have to make is where to go and when, and a few shore excursions to plan, but working with a travel agent many of these decisions are easy, fun and stress-free!
You Love to Meet New People
Cruises are great if you are a social person! Whether you are meeting the crew on the ship or fellow passengers, cruises really are a social experience. On Disney Cruise Line there are many Facebook groups for your cruise to chat and get to know your fellow passengers - and even sign up for gift exchanges. It makes the entire vacation unforgettable!
You Hate Being Bored!
Some people prefer to lay around and soak up the sun, which is definitely an option on a cruise! But when you’ve had enough lounge time, there is SO much to do on a cruise. Most cruise lines have amazing on-board entertainment like Broadway Style shows, rock climbing walls, mini putt courses, on-board surf lessons and that’s just on the ship!
There are also incredible opportunities to explore the ports along the way on your cruise! Some examples during Caribbean Cruises can include swimming with the dolphins, glass bottom boat tours, snorkeling and more. Plus, some cruise lines have their own private islands! ROYAL CARIBBEAN has two - one has the longest zip line in the Caribbean!
Whether your on the ship, or at port, there is always plenty to do! And of course - plenty of time to relax at the spa or poolside if you so choose!
You Are Planning a Family Reunion
Cruises are fantastic options when traveling with your extended family or large group as they greatly help with the logistics of traveling in a large group! You can plan plenty of time together or separate and it’s easy to meet up at various onboard activities throughout the trip - family trivia night anyone?!
Most cruises have onboard childcare facilities for all ages, usually starting as young as 6 months up to age 17, which makes some adult time easy to plan as well. These clubs are truly incredible and your kids will want to spend time there! Onboard the brand-new Disney Wish, the kids club includes an Imagineer Studio where kids can design their own rollercoaster, and then give it a virtual test ride at the Ride Studio.
When traveling in a large group, I’ll work with the cruise line so your entire party can all eat dinner together in the nightly dining room. Also if you want your staterooms to be near each other, or even connecting, this is something we can easily coordinate with enough notice!
You Hate to Pack and Unpack
When you are on group land tours, typically there is a lot of packing and unpacking - with a cruise, you get to experience multiple destinations and unpack and re-pack one time! This is such a large convenience that makes multi-destination travel much easier to manage.
You Want to Visit More Than One Destination
There are many destinations and itinerary to choose from, which make multi-destination travel very appealing to those on cruises. Some find the idea of planning a European vacation overwhelming, a river cruise is a great option to help with where to visit and what to explore! Maybe you’ve always wanted to visit Alaska, but this is a once in a lifetime trip - a cruise will allow you to take in all the sights of the area!
You Want to Stick to a Budget
There are a wide variety of vacation budgets and cruising is no different. One perk of cruising, is that your fare is typically “semi-all inclusive” - which means most meals, entertainment and lodging are all included in the cost of your fare. There are cruise lines that are all inclusive as well, so you don’t have any surprises with your vacation budget.
