Tiana's Bayou Adventure Opening June 28, 2024!

I personally cannot wait to experience the re-imagined Splash Mountain as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. Princess and the Frog is one of our family’s favorite movies and we are thrilled Tiana is getting her time to shine in the parks!

The attraction is scheduled to open at Walt Disney World in Orlando on June 28, 2024 - still no opening date set for Disneyland at this time.

When the attraction opens, there will be two ways to ride. There will NOT be a standby queue to start, however Disney is saying this will change in the future.

  1. Guests are invited to join the Virtual Queue to ride - this process is similar to Iron Lightcycle Run and Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind. There is no charge to join the Virtual Queue, you do this from the My Disney Experience app at 7am or 1pm, and then you are called back when it is your time to ride.

  2. Use Genie+ service - this is NOT through Individual Lightning Lane but the Genie+ service that gets you access to numerous Lightning Lanes at the park! I personally am THRILLED Disney went this route with this ride!!

Finally - there is an on-ride photo so be ready to SMILE! Oh and you’ll probably get wet, so don’t say I didn’t warn you!

And if you need a little more New Orleans flavor in your life, swing by Golden Oak Outpost of The Friar’s Nook for some delicious Beignets!

I’ll be down early July to experience this attraction for myself and cannot wait to report back! If you take a ride down the Bayou, let me know what you think! I have a feeling… this is gonna be good!!!

Is a Cruise the Right Fit for your Family?

A cruise is a great family vacation that allows you to explore many destinations with lots to do for your family! Here are some things to consider when deciding if a cruise is the right vacation for you.

Answering this question completely depends on you and what you are looking for you in your vacation. Cruising is not for everyone, and that’s OK! But read on to see if a cruise might be the right fit for your next vacation.

Planned vs. Spontaneous Trips

This is a very important part of the planning process - deciding if you prefer to have your vacations more scheduled, or if you like to live-in-the-moment and be much more spontaneous. Cruises are ideal for those who enjoy structure to their vacations and want to leave the planning up to someone else! Many clients love cruises as it removes the major decision making from their vacations and allow someone else to call the shots so they can truly relax and unwind on their vacation.

The main decisions you’ll have to make is where to go and when, and a few shore excursions to plan, but working with a travel agent many of these decisions are easy, fun and stress-free!

You Love to Meet New People

Cruises are great if you are a social person! Whether you are meeting the crew on the ship or fellow passengers, cruises really are a social experience. On Disney Cruise Line there are many Facebook groups for your cruise to chat and get to know your fellow passengers - and even sign up for gift exchanges. It makes the entire vacation unforgettable!

You Hate Being Bored!

Some people prefer to lay around and soak up the sun, which is definitely an option on a cruise! But when you’ve had enough lounge time, there is SO much to do on a cruise. Most cruise lines have amazing on-board entertainment like Broadway Style shows, rock climbing walls, mini putt courses, on-board surf lessons and that’s just on the ship!

There are also incredible opportunities to explore the ports along the way on your cruise! Some examples during Caribbean Cruises can include swimming with the dolphins, glass bottom boat tours, snorkeling and more. Plus, some cruise lines have their own private islands! ROYAL CARIBBEAN has two - one has the longest zip line in the Caribbean!

Whether your on the ship, or at port, there is always plenty to do! And of course - plenty of time to relax at the spa or poolside if you so choose!

You Are Planning a Family Reunion

Cruises are fantastic options when traveling with your extended family or large group as they greatly help with the logistics of traveling in a large group! You can plan plenty of time together or separate and it’s easy to meet up at various onboard activities throughout the trip - family trivia night anyone?!

Most cruises have onboard childcare facilities for all ages, usually starting as young as 6 months up to age 17, which makes some adult time easy to plan as well. These clubs are truly incredible and your kids will want to spend time there! Onboard the brand-new Disney Wish, the kids club includes an Imagineer Studio where kids can design their own rollercoaster, and then give it a virtual test ride at the Ride Studio.

When traveling in a large group, I’ll work with the cruise line so your entire party can all eat dinner together in the nightly dining room. Also if you want your staterooms to be near each other, or even connecting, this is something we can easily coordinate with enough notice!

You Hate to Pack and Unpack

When you are on group land tours, typically there is a lot of packing and unpacking - with a cruise, you get to experience multiple destinations and unpack and re-pack one time! This is such a large convenience that makes multi-destination travel much easier to manage.

You Want to Visit More Than One Destination

There are many destinations and itinerary to choose from, which make multi-destination travel very appealing to those on cruises. Some find the idea of planning a European vacation overwhelming, a river cruise is a great option to help with where to visit and what to explore! Maybe you’ve always wanted to visit Alaska, but this is a once in a lifetime trip - a cruise will allow you to take in all the sights of the area!

You Want to Stick to a Budget

There are a wide variety of vacation budgets and cruising is no different. One perk of cruising, is that your fare is typically “semi-all inclusive” - which means most meals, entertainment and lodging are all included in the cost of your fare. There are cruise lines that are all inclusive as well, so you don’t have any surprises with your vacation budget.

Disney100 is Scheduled to Begin at Disneyland on January 27, 2023!

Can you believe the Walt Disney World company is turning 100?! At the D23 Expo last month, it was announced there will be a celebration called Disney100 at Disneyland Resort. The date for this celebration to begin will be on January 27, 2023 and the celebration will include limited-time offerings throughout the year.

Some of the details released about the celebration involved a whole lotta Platinum. Mickey and Minnie are getting new platinum outfits, a lot of platinum merchandise will be released and Disney has hinted at limited food and beverage offerings as well. I’m very intrigued to see what this means!

At Disneyland Park, Sleeping Beauty castle is getting a makeover - who doesn’t love a good castle makeover? This one is very sparkly and includes two new fountains! I can’t wait to see all this bling in person!

Some of the more exciting news is Disney is bringing not one, but TWO brand-new nighttime spectaculars to Disneyland to celebrate!

“World of Color – One” will debut at Disney California Adventure Park! This show is all about the storytelling legacy that is woven within the fabric of the Walt Disney World company, and honestly, it sounds amazing! It will tell a new story of how a single action, like a drop of water, creates a ripple that can grow into a wave of change. It brings some of the most courageous, loving and inspiring characters to life in new ways. The show will also feature a new original song, “Start a Wave.”

“Wondrous Journeys” - is the new show that will debut at Disneyland Park. This show will bring to life the wonderful stories told by Walt Disney Animation Studios. This show will also include incredible projections, and on select nights, fireworks will light up the sky! This spectacular will also feature an incredible new song, “It’s Wondrous.”

Two other HUGE pieces of news!

Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway in Toontown will be opening on January 27, 2023. This is ahead of schedule as this was previously scheduled for the Spring of 2023. This is the first Mickey-themed attraction at Disneyland!

This is big news for many fans - The “Magic Happens” parade will have its long-awaited return to Disneyland park. This parade debuted in February of 2020 and has not been back since the closure for the pandemic. “Magic Happens” celebrates the awe-inspiring moments of magic that are at the heart of so many Disney stories. This parade reminds us we don’t need wings to fly, shooting stars were made to wish upon, and magic doesn’t stop at midnight. This is amazing news as these floats are truly beautiful - my personal favorite is the Moana float!

Disney has also mentioned more entertainment and news will be shared throughout the celebration.

One BIG piece of news is that all park reservations for Disneyland Park and Disney’s California Adventure are currently paused after January 8, 2023. These should resume again shortly.

Are you planning to visit Disneyland during this epic celebration?! Let’s start planning today!

Celebrity Narrators are Announced for the 2022 Candlelight Processional

The Festival of the Holidays will be returning to EPCOT on November 25th - and with the return of this wonderful festival, will be the beloved Candlelight Processional. If you have never experienced this beautiful evening, I highly recommend adding it to your Disney vacation plans.

This tradition has been a party of EPCOT’s holiday celebration since 1971 and it is one of the most beautiful ways to hear the story of Christmas. The Voices of Liberty acapella group is joined by a 50 piece live orchestra, mass choir and of course, the amazing celebrity narrators.

This year’s list of celebrity narrators is nothing short of spectacular. View the whole list below:

2022 Candlelight Processional Celebrity Narrators

  • 11/25 - 11/26: Simu Liu

  • 11/27 – 11/29: Edward James Olmos

  • 11/30 – 12/1: Raul Esparza (NEW)

  • 12/2 – 12/3: Whoopi Goldberg
